The Founder 👋​

 

Meet Andy, the guy behind Wandering EMU - a local mobile business in Nanaimo specialising in

Electrical Mechanical & Utilities for the Marine, RV and Overlanding communities.

​

Originally from the rugged Northern Territory of Australia, Andy spent more than 20 years working in aviation as a Licensed Avionics Technician.

Not sure what that means? Basically, Andy was authorised to maintain, troubleshoot and fix the electrical systems in aircraft - everything from radios and instruments to the aircraft’s electrical systems. 

​

A big part of Andy’s career was working with special mission organisations, particularly Search and Rescue and the Australian Border Force. When you’re working on aircraft used for that kind of operation, there is no room for guesswork. Things need to be diagnosed properly, fixed promptly and, most importantly, done safely. 

​

That experience and knowledge is a big part of what Andy brings to Wandering EMU, and of course that Aussie charm!

​

Andy loves the outdoors, getting his hands dirty and spending time with his wife and two young boys exploring Vancouver Island. He also understands that when your boat, RV or vehicle isn’t working properly, or you want someone you can actually talk to, do the job right and get you back on track. He is your guy!

​
